The film explores the groundbreaking 1956 congressional race between Dalip Singh Saund\, who became the first Asian\, Indian\, and Sikh American elected to Congress\, and his opponent Jackie Cochran Odlum\, a pioneering aviatrix and businesswoman. Chandra\, whose documentaries focus on civil rights and peace\, environmental and racial justice\, and gender equality\, will also share insights from her three years of research into this overlooked chapter of American history.
