A play about the 1998 fatal shooting of Tyisha Miller by Riverside police will raise money for the soon-to-open Civil Rights Institute of Inland Southern California.
The hip-hop theater play “Dreamscape” will be performed at 8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 30, at The Box, 3635 Market St., in downtown Riverside.
The drama, written and directed by UC Riverside professor and multimedia artist Rickerby Hinds, uses spoken word, beatboxing and dance to reimagine the events of that December day nearly 25 years ago, a news release states. “Dreamscape” debuted in 2012.
