Banished Citizens: Community Stories & Conversation!

July 25 @ 11:00 am - 1:30 pm

We are inviting those who were impacted to join a community conversation inspired by Banished Citizens: A History of the Mexican American Women Who Endured Repatriation. A book that explores the forced removal of people of Mexican descent from the United States during the 1930s termed as “the repatriation”.

  • Have you or someone in your community have been affected by the Mexican Repatriations of the 1930s?
  • Do you carry stories of displacement, deportation, or forced removal from your home?
  • Have you experienced or witnessed land loss, exclusion, or community erasure?
  • Have you or your family experienced loss of any kind as a result of this experience.

Join us as we learn about this challenging period, share stories, and honor the experiences of those impacted!
