Grow our Endowment

The Board of Directors of CRIISC has established a discretionary endowment, which means that the money invested in this account is intended to generally support the work of CRIISC over the long term through distributions of 3% to 5% of the value of the fund each year, leaving the remainder to grow.  However, because it is a discretionary endowment, the Board may approve the distribution of a larger amount to meet an unexpected emergency or to take advantage of an unusual opportunity.

CRIISC works diligently to build the discretionary endowment because of the operational stability it provides.  Your gifts to this endowment fund are warmly welcomed and appreciated.

Give Towards Designated Purposes

CRIISC also welcomes your gifts for purposes on which we mutually agree.  In the website section called “New Sponsorships,” we have identified current sponsorship opportunities.  One or more of these might appeal to you.  If you want CRIISC to consider some other purpose for which you would like to designate a gift, please speak with the Executive Director.  Individually-curated gift designations need final approval by the Board of Directors.

Types of Gifts

CRIISC accepts gifts in many forms.  Cash gifts are appreciated whether by check, credit card, on-line payment, or distributions from an Individual Retirement Account or other investment account.  Unrestricted, marketable securities may be transferred electronically to a CRIISC account, such as the discretionary endowment account, maintained at the brokerage firm used by CRIISC.

Bequests and beneficiary designations naming CRIISC under wills, trusts, life insurance policies, commercial annuities, and Individual Retirement Accounts are welcome.  You may also name CRIISC as a remainder beneficiary of a charitable remainder trust or an income beneficiary of a charitable lead trust..  For gifts such as these which will be received later, CRIISC would appreciate knowing what provisions you have made.

If you would like to make a gift of real estate, CRIISC has certain pre-gift requirements so that the gift may be reviewed in advance.

Please be aware that CRIISC does not accept any gift which is debt-burdened, requires any payments by CRIISC, would impose fiduciary duties on CRIISC, or is restricted in marketability.

Please be aware that CRIISC does not collect items of historical significance.  In addition, CRIISC generally does not accept gifts of personal property for resale.
