Audrey Maier, public history director at the Civil Rights Institute of Inland Southern California, will speak about the history of Bryn Mawr, a small community between Loma Linda and Redlands, Tuesday, Sept. 17, at the annual general meeting of the Loma Linda Area Parks and Historical Society.
The meeting, open to the public, will be at 6 p.m. in the Loma Linda Community Room, part of Loma Linda’s City Hall complex, at 25541 Barton Road. The Community Room is next to the Loma Linda Public Library, with entrance to the parking lot on Loma Linda Drive beside the fire station.
Maier will tell the story of Bryn Mawr, from a failed subdivisoin of the 1880s to a community that played a role in the citrus-growing history of the Inland Empire.
